If you have a OG Buster Blader in hand, or his retrain in grave, Whelp can tribute himself to summon the Blader onto the field, setting up for Synchro or Fusion plays. This hatchling dragon can call for his master or any of his older forms upon normal summon, or search out any of the archetype's Spells or Traps. If this card is in your Graveyard and you control "Buster Blader": You can discard 1 "Destruction Sword" card Special Summon this card.īuster Whelp is the heart and soul of the deck. You can Tribute this card Special Summon 1 "Buster Blader" from your hand or Graveyard. You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman" per turn, and only once that turn. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Destruction Sword" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman". Level 1 LIGHT Dragon effect Tuner monster At our hero's side is his adorable, 6-legged friend.īuster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman Unlike the Bladers of old, who fought dragons by their lonesome, this new warrior has decided that the only way to kill a dragon. Unfortunately, he only takes on the title of Buster Blader while on the field or the grave, so he can be a potential brick in the hand unless you can get him to the grave easily. Although he lost the attack boost, he gained a new ability: whenever a opponent's monster is destroyed and sent to the grave, he can equip that monster to himself and use it as ammunition to unleash a Raigeki on the opponent's monsters of the same Type. This new warrior clearly knows his stuff. Once per turn: You can send 1 Monster Card you control that is equipped to this card to the Graveyard destroy all monsters your opponent controls with the same Type as that monster sent to the Graveyard. If a monster(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of those destroyed monsters equip it to this card. You’re mostly only ever wanting to search the welp or prologue anyway (or the means to get to one or the other) so blind draws aren’t as good as key searches. This card's name becomes "Buster Blader" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. Would cut that entirely and replace with more generic search cards… pot of prosperity is of equal cost being a SR and is SOOOO much better than a net 0 blind draw 2 at best, and a neg 1 at worst if you get Ashed. Needs a ton of defense/board security to actually last past turn 2/3.Įdit: also, noticed you’re playing cards of consonance. A simple imperm on buster dragon or the blader fusion cripples the strategy. Then put in some hand trap hate to counter Maxx C, ash and the like and you are probably working with a solid deck that can at least stand up to some of the meta.īuster blader has a lot of power with the lock, but dies to any sort of removal or monster effect negation that isn’t in the form of on field monster effects. Get jester confit, instant fusion with the relinquished fusions, and where arf though. Prologue does all of that in one card and better. Would replace with a more versatile generic card (hand trap or something like IDP). Storm is good, if you’re planning to go second, and is dead any other time. You don’t need 3 of the dragon buster sword that’s a waste of gems, halq tutors him out if you absolutely need him anyway (which you really don’t NEED it most the times tbh).Ĭut bladers down to 3. Also why the hell do you not have HRDAB? That thing is super easy to make and is a huge bomb for buster blader decks. Get solemn judgment/more generic defensive or removal cards, also hand traps.
